Why we picked this issue.
Raul's Intro
I chose amnesty for Mexican immigrants as my topic because it's something that I find important enough to be able to explain to others about . Being Mexican-American and living in a neighborhood where most of the residents here are considered to be an "illegal alien" has prompted me to learn more about this because this topic concerns me and people with a similar background as mine. A lot of people that are not Mexican don't really have a clue about the struggle that people with Mexican roots know carry. This issue matters because there are there are millions of undocumented Mexicans that seek a better life, but cannot due to the fact that they were born in another country. With this project, I hope to be able to explain the importance of supporting laws and regulations that will help give Mexican immigrants amnesty to stay in the United States and have the same privileges as the people who were born here.

Edwin's Intro
My fire project topic is Mexican Immigration Amnesty. I chose this topic because I feel that many people in the United States are not fully aware of the discrimination Mexicans face in their daily lives and the disadvantages that they have due to lack of regulations. I’m profoundly passionate about this topic because I am a Mexican and seen Mexicans being exploited in their jobs. Also I attend a high school which has many undocumented students that want to go to college but have it difficult based on their citizenship status. This issue matters because there is a vast amount of Mexican farmers who are paid under federal hourly wage and Mexican students who a very intellectual and not given a chance to success because of where they come from. I know my project won’t create any significant change in our government but it will establish more awareness and not continue to be redundant.

Thesis
Immigration has a negative effect on "international" students, poor legislations, and is used to exploit undocumented workers. therefore, laws and acts such as Dreamers should be made to help the backbone of some of the strongest working people in the United States.
