Raul's Reflection
I chose my topic because I have lived in a neighborhood my whole life knowing that I am surrounded by people the same ethnicity as me but with a slightly different story. I couldn’t wrap my mind around it for a while because it didn’t really make sense to me as to why they were so different. Doing this project has better helped me understand the history of my background and my people and the struggle that most of them have to go through. The most difficult part of this project was to find research. I don’t know why but it took me a long time to actually find scholarly reliable sources. I would tell a student next year to take this project more seriously because it isn’t just a project for school. It’s something to find what you really care about and be able to explain thoroughly.
Edwin's Reflection
The process of evaluating and Choosing a topic is perhaps the most difficult part of a project because a person wants to have a topic that won't bored them. My topic is Mexican immigration and the reason that I picked this particular topic is because I was very interested in learning deeply on how Mexicans are treated in jobs, the education of the Mexican dreamers, and the regulations that support the undocumented. The fire project is not the type of project that can be done in a night. This project was a very time consuming assignment because it took me at least 3hrs for each writing section. At first I was very unproductive by not working on it but Once I felt that I was leaving it on the side for to long I decided to work on it. This project taught me how to present a piece evidence and being able to analyze it by theory explaining it in a argument. I think that I still lack on having a strong topic sentence and being able to make perfect sense throughout the paragraph. The writing section that I am most proud is the "Historical Context". I introduced it very well be explaining the roots of Mexican immigration really well. I also explain the significant time period which vast amount of Mexican came and a personal bracero farmer story. This was a strainful project and the advice I can give the 2016 seniors is be responsible and don't fall behind. This project take time and dedication. If you complete your work on time it will not seem as much. But if you fall behind you'll be very stressed out and turn in low standard work. This project is not hard, it only depends on the students motivation to complete it.
